St. John Lutheran Church ELCA is a Christian church that has roots that date back to 1922. Focused on the community, service, and spirit, our current location was built more than 15 years ago. Join us for Communion at our weekly Sunday service. We welcome people from The Villages, Lady Lake, Belleview, Summerfield, Ocala, and the surrounding Lake Weir area.
As a member or associate member, you can serve on our committees and other ministry teams to help spread God's Word. St. John supports several local groups that meet at the church weekly. The Boy and Girl Scouts of America meet at the church. Boys and Girls are welcome to join the scouts who meet at St. John as well as join us for Sunday services and youth activities. Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) also meets weekly at the church. St. John welcomes members of the community and neighboring retirement community to join us in hearing God's Word.
During the year, special events are held during the seasons of Lutheran Worship. Some of these special events include Advent services, Christmas Eve Candlelight Service, Living Nativity, Services during Lent, including weekly soup suppers, and Sunrise Service by the Lake on Easter Sunday. Other fellowship activities include church picnics and cookouts, annual Easter Egg Hunt, Christmas Giving Tree to support local children and families, Stuff the Bus for gathering back to school donations, assisting with Thanksgiving baskets for families in need, Progressive Dinners, Gatherings by the lake, Chime Choir, Guest Musicians, Guest Speakers and many ELCA events. St. John is active in donating to local public schools.
